I never tried the Focusrite as the last item in the chain, just because of the timeframe i was in. Master 4 was second best, but i feel it was missing some weight that i think i achieved with the Focusrite.Īs always, just MHO, but i wouldn't recommend the Finalizer to anyone unless they had a nice analog something or other to put at either end. I just shaved off the gross high end stuff. The industry-standard peak limiter and level maximizer, Waves L2 Ultramaximizer gives you sophisticated look-ahead brickwall peak limiting, level maximization. Master 3 was the best sounding, round from the Focusrite, but still loud from the finalizer. Master 2 was much rounder, but not quite as loud. it puts this wierd brittle top end crap on, sounded awful chilly. NEW 25th Anniversary features: True Peak domain setting, Automatic Release Control. 25th Anniversary edition includes Legacy and Modern interfaces.

Double precision bit resolution processing. Increased Digital Resolution dither with noise-shaping filter. i did 4 separate masters on the last project i finished.Ĥ) Waves Renaissance comp>waves ren. Two components: L1 Limiter and L1+ Ultramaximizer. that thing can sound downright awful if you're not really really careful.

Maximizing still kills the dynamic range, although much nicer than alot of things i've used, one of those things being the Finalizer Express. ie: if L1 will let you boost 10 db, only use 7.5. I absolutely love it, but i heed the advice of an engineer that i heard say "only use about 75% of the maximum level it will give you". I've not used the L2, but have been using the L1 plug-in for some time now.
